1. I have an enduring passion for something（我对什么事情有着持久的热情）
当我们想描述自己喜欢学什么，为什么选择某个专业或工作，还有分享自己的业余爱好等等都可以用这个表达。
考官: “Why you chose to major in diplomacy?”
我: “I have an enduring passion for international affairs and public policy. I would like to embark on a career of becoming an international public servant who can contribute on achieving world peace and global cooperation.”
考官: “Tell me one of your hobbies.”
我: “Due to my enduring passion for foreign language learning, I particularly love reading and writing in English and French. They gave me different perspectives and encouragement for living a more meaningful life.”
2. I delight in something/doing something（我非常喜欢做某事）
这个表达比简单的说I enjoy doing something要地道高级很多，而且感情色彩更强烈。
考官: “What’s your favorite season? ”
我: “Spring, is without a doubt, my favorite season. I delight in taking a stroll in the park, with an ocean of flowers blossoming around and a sweet scent of freshness filling the air.
考官: “Are you a pet lover? ”
我: “Definitely, I seemed to be predisposed to delight in having animals around.”
3. Not crazy about something （对什么不着迷，不是特别喜欢）
这个表达非常简单，但听起来很地道。我们可以用来描述任何我们不喜欢的人或事物。
考官: “How do you like action movies?”
我: “My husband is really into action movies like the Avengers because they are exhilarating. But, I’m not crazy about them.”
Expressing Feelings
4. Ove the moon （欣喜若狂）
这个表达的意思是开心的不得了，比一般的小确幸要更高一层次的欣喜。人生大事里的考上好大学，找到好工作，升官加薪，结婚生子都可以用over the moon来描述。
考官: “Tell me about one of your happiest moments.”
我: “The offer from Cornell University really made my day. I was over the moon when I received their email congratulating me to be accepted into their MPA degree with scholarship.”
“I felt immensely blissful the moment I delivered my first baby boy. I was definitely over the moon and overwhelmed with joy when holding this tiny little baby of mine.”
5. An eye-opening experience （大开眼界的经历）
这个表达很美很大气，可以用来描述我们经历的任何高大上的体验，比如出国旅游，参加重大活动，交到有趣的朋友，读到引人深思的好书等等。
考官: “What’s your favorite vacation?”
我: “I had an eye-opening experience when travelling to London when I was 15.
考官: “What’s your favorite book? ”
我: “I’m a voracious reader and I go back to read the Harry Porter series from time to time. They are definitely my all-time favourites, simply because it’s an eye-opening experience to immerse myself in the magical world of wizards.”
6. Turn (someone or something) upside down（引起翻天覆地的变化）
这是个很妙的成语，本意是把什么东西翻了个底朝天，引申义是引起了翻天覆地的变化，经常描述的是消极的影响，比如亲人过世，高考失利，或任何生活中的挫折与不幸。
考官: “Tell me about an event that changed your life?”
我: “Being rejected by the university that was my top choice turned my whole life upside down.”
“My grandpa was near and dear to my heart. So, when he passed away a few years ago, I was turned upside down.”
Expressing Opinions
7. In my honest opinion, I strongly believe that… (讲真，我坚信……)
当我们全心的赞同某个观点时，可以用这个表达，感觉很真诚、坚定。
考官: “Do you think marriage is still important as ever? ”
我: “In my honest opinion, I strongly believe that marriage is still considered as an important ritual in our lives to most people in China. ”
8. The way I see it, it doesn’t make sense because… （在我看来，这是没有意义/道理的，因为……）
这是表示不赞同某个观点时的地道表达，这么讲出来非常有逻辑感也有说服力。
考官: “Do you think marriage is still important as ever? ”
我: “The way I see it, marriage doesn’t make sense anymore, because the advantages previously associated with marriage — such as financial support and stability for children — are no longer relevant in many circumstances. ”
9. I’m in two minds about this, I suppose…but on the other hand…（我对此有两种看法，我觉得……但另一方面……）
当我们对某个观点保持中立态度，两边的想法都想说一下时，用这个表达是非常完美的。我们的回答瞬间变长，而且显得很有深度。
考官: “What’s your favorite movie? ”
我: “I’m in two minds about this, I suppose most of us still desire a life partner to swear wedding vows with and to go through challenges of life together, But on the other hand, marriage is not all about sunshine and rainbows. The high divorce rate all around the world could easily scare us off.”
10. At first glance, I’d say… However, at the end of the day, I’d say… （乍一看，我觉得……但是，归根结底，我觉得……)
这个是表达两重想法的最精彩结构。当我们分析一个问题时都会有最初的看法和深思后的看法，这么讲出来是非常有层次感的。
我: “At first glance, I’d say marriage is useless. It’s just a piece of paper and no way can it guarantee a story of happily ever after. However, at the end of the day, I’d say marriage is still important as ever. Like every other girl around the corner, I still dream of a charming prince who can sweep me off my feet and celebrate our love in the name of marriage.
